LRN is the exclusive corporate partner of The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity Prize in Ethics. Together, the organizations are extending The Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest at a time where there needs to be increased focus on the role of ethics in education, politics, business and our global community. The Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest is an annual competition designed to challenge college students to analyze the urgent ethical issues confronting them in today's complex world. The Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest was established in 1989 and is celebrating its 20th year in 2009.
Each year, juniors and seniors at accredited universities and colleges throughout the United States are encouraged to write thought-provoking personal essays that raise questions, single out issues and are rational arguments for ethical action. Thousands of students from hundreds of colleges and universities across the nation have through their writings explored their concerns and beliefs, their fears and their hopes. As part of their partnership, LRN and The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity are pursuing more public dialogue on ethical matters of importance to citizens, institutions and society at large. This is inclusive of the enlistment of academic partners and student participants and the sharing of their questions, rational arguments and recommendations for ethical action with the general public.
