LRN Announces Key Appointments to Executive LeadershipLRN pursues new market entry and reaffirms knowledge as central to company growthLos Angeles and London, December 9, 2008 – LRN today announced Alister Christopher, former Senior Vice President of Gartner Events Worldwide, and David Greenberg, former Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Altria Group, have joined LRN in key executive leadership positions. These appointments come as LRN is expanding into new markets and geographies and evolving its solutions portfolio to meet the demand for resources and offerings that help companies ensure corporate compliance, inspire ethical leadership and develop social and environmental responsibility. As Executive Vice President of Knowledge, Greenberg is responsible for developing the insights that serve as the building blocks of LRN’s market-tested and innovative solutions, industry thought leadership and the frameworks and approaches that address client business issues. As Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Solutions and Marketing, Christopher is responsible for infusing that knowledge into the development of LRN's solutions portfolio and growth internationally, including expansion in Europe and Asia. "David has earned a reputation as one of the leading thinkers in the field. Alister has built one of the most influential events organizations in the technology industry. Their experience and leadership are uniquely suited to the next stage in our company's journey," said Dov Seidman, CEO of LRN. "I have come to admire Alister and David and look forward to their contributions as we seek to deliver new value to our client partners and help them navigate and find success in a more complex, global business environment." Greenberg joins LRN from Altria Group, where his tenure of more than two decades culminated in the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, heading Altria’s enterprise-wide efforts on corporate compliance and integrity as one of only five senior vice presidents of the parent corporation. Prior to this, he held numerous senior positions at Altria and its operating unit Philip Morris International in the U.S., Europe and globally, including responsibility for environmental and social responsibility, government affairs and communications. Prior, Greenberg was a partner with the law firm of Arnold & Porter, preceded by time as Legislative Director and General Counsel for the Consumer Federation of America and a legislative representative, organizer and writer for Ralph Nader. "I have long respected LRN. Chief among the reasons for my admiration is the company’s ability to innovate and forge new markets grounded in a unique and differentiated point of view,” said Greenberg. “Knowledge continues to be a – if not the most important – core asset at LRN. It is exciting to join the company at a time when LRN is reaffirming its intellectual roots as the fundamental source for how we will continue to deliver value to our client partner community. And it is particularly gratifying that LRN’s search for insight is grounded in helping companies do the right thing." Christopher joins LRN from Gartner, where he ran a $185-million global business unit. Christopher was responsible for driving growth in revenues and profitability for the business, and in this capacity, he reported to the CEO and was a member of the management team that runs Gartner. Before leading Gartner’s events business, Christopher spent a decade in various leadership positions in Gartner’s sales organization in Europe and the U.S. Previous positions include Group Vice President of Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa and the regional team leader, responsible for the coordination of all of Gartner’s business units in the region. “LRN provides the rarest of opportunities: the ability to help our client partners win through the solutions we deliver while also having the positive impact we seek to have in the market and the world at large,” said Christopher. “Solutions that enable companies to adopt a principled approach to performance have never been in more demand, and we are in the unique position to help organizations create cultures that inspire principled performance. That’s a remarkable and important opportunity.” About LRN ### |
