The New York Times Company and LRN to offer Times Company employees legal, compliance and ethics educationNew York, NY and LOS ANGELES, CA—January 27, 2005—The New York Times Company and LRN, the provider of legal, compliance and ethics process management solutions, announced today that they have signed a multiyear agreement to provide Times Company employees with a comprehensive legal and ethics awareness education program through the LRN Legal Compliance and Ethics Center™ (LCEC®). Under the terms of the agreement, LRN will provide The New York Times Company with a comprehensive curriculum of legal, compliance and ethics courses, including a customized course on the company's Business Ethics Policy. The LRN Legal Compliance and Ethics Center enables employees to consider ethical dilemmas that they might encounter on the job, and helps them learn how to identify, evaluate and resolve legal and compliance risks. Workers can become adept at navigating gray areas that may arise in the course of business. All coursework will be developed, hosted and updated by LRN, streamlining program implementation and administration. LRN's professional services team of Knowledge Service Account Executives will also support the Times Company with their extensive backgrounds and experience in a range of relevant fields, including: sociology, psychology, change management, law, compliance, ethics and distance learning, to assure smooth program implementation and ongoing success.
