LRN acquires Fuel -  expands global reach and leadership position in ethics and compliance

LOS ANGELES and LONDON – July 9, 2007 – LRN today announced it has acquired Fuel, a leading-edge e-learning company based in the U.K. The combination of the companies provides enhanced capabilities and offerings and firmly positions LRN as the foremost leader in helping companies address global ethics and compliance issues.

"Since starting LRN 14 years ago, I envisioned a company doing meaningful work – operating globally but working locally to solve the real-world issues of business ethics, corporate compliance and culture," said Dov Seidman, CEO of LRN.  "Fuel adds to our capabilities, reach and ability to scale. This is important to the future of our business and ensures we deliver the kinds of creative, global experiences our customers have come to expect in new, direct and personal ways."

By integrating offerings and operations in Los Angeles, New York, London and India, both companies can better meet the needs of clients, more specifically:

•    An expanded ethics and compliance education library offers courseware that addresses both common risk areas for the European workforce and specialized concerns for the European marketplace, such as corporate responsibility and sustainability issues.

•    Expanded offerings for both multinationals and European companies provide more relevant, localized course scenarios; more multi-media options; and more low-bandwidth courseware for locations with limited high-speed Internet access.

•    Expanded research and development capabilities, with instructional design teams in the U.S. and U.K. and development teams in the U.S. and India, allow LRN to accelerate new product innovations and provide faster time to market.

The acquisition also extends LRN’s offerings and customer footprint in financial services, technology and military/government markets as well as in the European marketplace.

“LRN and Fuel are likeminded in our deeply-held commitments to helping companies succeed through how they do business,” said Seidman.  “Bringing such a talented group of professionals, including Fuel’s able and experienced management team, to LRN emboldens us in our journey to inspire principled performance in business.”
