Former chief ethics & compliance officer at Vetco and DuPont Marjorie Doyle joins LRNLOS ANGELES, CA – May 16, 2007 – LRN, a leading provider of ethics and compliance solutions, today announced that Marjorie Doyle, a recognized expert and practitioner in the field of ethics and compliance, has joined LRN. The former Executive Vice President and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer for Vetco International and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at DuPont, Doyle brings first-hand experience in establishing world-class ethics and compliance programs that not only meet legal obligations but create cultures of shared values and integrity. At LRN, she is responsible for leading a team of ethics and compliance professionals and providing a range of services designed to assist ethics and compliance officers to optimize the effectiveness of the function and the overall value of compliance and ethics initiatives within companies. “Marjorie is one of the most respected leaders in ethics and compliance. Her achievements at Vetco and DuPont and commitment to the field have helped set the standard for what makes a great and effective chief ethics and compliance officer,” said Paul Cole, Managing Director at LRN. “Her experience, perspective and hands-on capabilities are significant additions to our team and will help our clients assess and strengthen their own efforts.” Doyle brings real-world insight of best practices and an ability to innovate new approaches in the design of ethics and compliance initiatives for LRN clients, including codes of conduct and policy reviews and risk and cultural assessments. She is noted for her groundbreaking work in founding DuPont’s Ethics & Compliance Central, a new breed of ethics and compliance organization considered best-in-class for merging centralized oversight with decentralized management of compliance responsibilities. Her work at Vetco has been praised for supporting the principles of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) for, among other things, creating an effective due diligence and education program for the company’s many third-party suppliers. “In my career, I have searched for means to embed ethics and compliance into the DNA of companies," said Doyle. “I’ve also been an advocate for sharing that knowledge broadly. Joining LRN enables me to work directly with my fellow ethics and compliance professionals while also innovating new ideas and strategies that make responsible conduct central to the way business gets done.” Prior to joining LRN, Doyle was responsible for a newly formed organization of fulltime compliance officers, directors and specialists at Vetco and was a direct report to the Compliance Committee of Vetco’s Board of Directors. Prior, she was Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer of DuPont, where she pioneered the Ethics & Compliance Central organization, ethics and compliance Web-based education for DuPont’s global employees and the Law Firm Convergence Program, now known as the DuPont Legal Model. Doyle is a regular speaker on ethics and compliance programs, ethics education for directors, ethical cultures and ethics and compliance risk assessments. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Open Compliance and Ethics Group (OCEG), charter member and former Chair of the Council on Corporate Compliance of the Conference Board, member of the Advisory Board of Directors for the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, charter member of The Compliance & Ethics Leadership Council of the Corporate Executive Board, and member of the Ethics and Compliance Officers Association (ECOA). In 2005, Marjorie was awarded the Society of Corporate Compliance & Ethics award for her work at DuPont and contributions to the compliance community. Earlier in her career, she was a litigator at Fulbright & Jaworski in Houston, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Law Clerk to the Honorable John R. Brown, Chief Judge, U. S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Doyle is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and the University of Houston Law School where she served as editor-in-chief of the Houston Law Review. ### |
