BAE SYSTEMS renews contract with LRN, strengthening its commitment to ethics and legal compliance

LOS ANGELES, CA, September 18, 2003 -- BAE SYSTEMS North America today announced that it has renewed and deepened its relationship with LRN®, the leading provider of legal, compliance and ethics education services to Fortune 500 corporations. BAE SYSTEMS will provide ethics and legal compliance training for nearly 24,000 employees throughout its North America operations. LRN will provide these services and educational tools to BAE SYSTEMS through its Legal Compliance and Ethics Center® (LCEC), which allows employees to complete Web-based curriculum on an ongoing basis, with courses selected based on an individual's job function and role within the company.

Under the terms of the agreement, BAE SYSTEMS employees will continue to leverage the Web-based training in LCEC. In addition, LRN has also transformed the BAE SYSTEMS existing "Code of Conduct" internal ethics policy into an interactive Web-based learning tool so that employees can more effectively understand and apply its principles to their daily activities and decisions.

The LRN Legal Compliance and Ethics Center (LCEC) is the world's leading Web-based education solution providing a wide variety of courses on legal, ethics and compliance issues. Through an interactive and entertaining tutorial, online handbook and other educational tools, LCEC helps employees learn how to identify and avoid ethical and legal risks. The courses are delivered through a Web-based platform requiring no additional software on customers' computers. This delivery system greatly reduces implementation time, maintenance costs and technology barriers. Additionally, updates and changes to the courses can be rolled out immediately to every user. LCEC also contains a disconnected learning feature, which allows employees in remote areas or those with less reliable access to the Internet to download the courses, complete them offline, and then upload them to the company.
